What is Sacred Body Awakening?

Sacred Body Awakening is a set of embodied practices for women that are intended to honor and evoke the Sacred Feminine, through pleasure, sensuality and life-force energy.

These profound ways of embodying holy immanence were practiced long ago by priestesses in the ancient Goddess temples.

The Sanctuary for Sacred Union is remembering and re-igniting these practices with the help of Divine Mother, Sophia, Isis, Mary Magdalene, and the sisterhood of the Rose.

Deep gratitude to Aletheia Sophia, who generously shared some of her own practices, which are incorporated into this program, and gave her blessing to use the name, Sacred Body Awakening.

 

Sacred Body Awakening reminds us that:

  • Our bodies are sacred

  • Our pleasure is sacred

  • Sexual life-force energy is a potent force intended not just for love-making and baby-making, but also for the purposes of spiritual awakening, prayer, blessing, healing, transformation, creativity and magik.

Our bodies are designed to feel like silk on the inside. We are meant to move and flow like warm honey, dripping with pleasure and vibrating with a consistent Yum-Hum in the body.

This aliveness can be cultivated as a source of nourishment for ourselves, and as an offering for the benefit of all beings.

Why does it matter?

When women gather in temple to remember the ancient ways…

  • We can raise our vibration higher and and connect with the Divine deeper than we could on our own.

  • We can release years – and lifetimes – of energetic imprints from the patriarchy.

  • We can begin to open bodies that have been shut down.

  • We can tap into the wisdom and power of the womb.

When we honor the sacred in ourselves and devote our sexual energy toward the Highest Good, it benefits everyone.

A woman who has awakened her sacred body is empowered to walk her path of purpose with ease, grace and joy. Her power invites an awakening not only in other women, but also in men. The Awakened Feminine heals the toxic masculine, initiates the Awakened Masculine and opens the door for Sacred Union.

This alchemy is desperately needed on the planet right now.  

Who is it for?

This is an advanced spiritual practice and therefore, not for everyone.

This experience might be for you if…

  • You are a female spiritual leader, or a spiritually-oriented change-leader, coach, consultant, facilitator, etc.

  • You are committed to the spiritual journey and have been doing the inner work of self-transformation for years

  • You desire to activate your sensuality not for the purpose of better orgasms (although that might be a happy result), but rather for the purposes of:

    • awakening the deeper dimensions of your multi-dimensional being

    • channeling this energy for the purposes of healing, blessing, prayer, creation, etc.

The circle is limited to 9 women.

Is it safe?

Sacred Body Awakening is an intimate experience... not just because the practices are sensual but because they are sacred.

We will allow ourselves to be vulnerable, and will stir up the Shakti.

And, we will be safe.

The work takes place in a small-group format and is held within a container of physical, psychological and spiritual safety. There is no requirement to be naked, touch other women's “sacred sites,” or reach climax.

That is not the point. 

The point is to awaken and consecrate our sacred bodies and to offer our pleasure and life-force energy to divine purposes. We will dance, pray and offer sacred touch for our sisters in ways that leave us feeling alive, open, powerful and expanded.

Retreat location

The retreat takes place at The Sanctuary for Sacred Union, Boulder, Colorado.

This is a non-residential retreat; lodging is not included.

Schedule

Online calls

Before attending the in-person retreat, all participants must attend two mandatory Zoom calls and complete all homework assignments.

Because the Zoom calls are interactive, it is highly recommended (but not required) that you attend live. If you can’t attend the Zoom session, be sure to mark time on your calendar to watch the replay and complete the homework assignments.
